Chris Carrasco is a highly accomplished professional in the marching arts, specializing in drill writing, program coordination, and choreography. With an extensive career spanning since 2006, Chris has consistently demonstrated his expertise and passion for the industry.
Since 2016, Chris has served as the Associate Director of Bands at James Logan High School in Union City, California. In this role, he oversees the design and instruction of the percussion and jazz programs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality performances and fostering the growth of talented musicians.
Chris's contributions extend beyond his work at James Logan High School. He holds the position of visual technician for the renowned Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps in Concord, CA, where he brings his creative insights to enhance their visual presentations. Additionally, he serves as the Program Coordinator and drill designer for the Blue Devils B Corps, a testament to his ability to craft engaging and impactful performances.
Internationally recognized for his talent, Chris is the choreographer for the DCJ Champion Yokohama Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps in Yokohama, Japan. Through his meticulous choreography, he has played a significant role in shaping the corps' success and reputation.
Throughout his career, Chris has collaborated with prestigious organizations in the marching arts community. He has worked as a choreographer and movement specialist with The Santa Clara Vanguard, bringing his unique artistic perspective to their performances. He has also lent his choreographic expertise to the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and served as a visual designer and program coordinator for The Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps.
Chris's journey in the marching arts began in Concord, CA, where he was an active member of his school's Winterguard program. Building on his passion for performance, he joined the Blue Devils B Corps as a Baritone player and later showcased his versatility as a member of the Front Ensemble.
To enhance his artistic abilities and deepen his understanding of the marching arts, Chris pursued higher education at San Jose State University. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in percussion performance and a minor in dance. Seeking continuous growth, he obtained a master's degree in education in 2018.
